About Krystina A. Thomas, LMT
My interest in the human body is a life long passion. Birth has always fascinated me and drawn me in. In 2005 I trained as a birth Doula with DONA international. This sparked my interest in massage and bodywork and I soon found myself seeking more knowledge. I received an outstanding training and education in massage therapy from the Oregon School of Massage and fell in love with bodywork.
Two weeks before I graduated from massage school I was in a very intense car accident. I was hit by a drunk driver. Everything I had worked so hard for seemed impossible. While I was blessed to have no broken bones, I was in a lot of pain and experiencing crippling PTSD. I realized that I was given the opportunity to experience first hand what many of my clients were going through. I found so much relief through Chiropractic and massage as well as Shamanic healing and energy work. I found that helping people recover from this experience was a new passion!
I began practicing in 2007 and worked in a number of high volume clinics where I gained significant experience with a highly diverse set of clients. I have been given the opportunity to work with hundreds of people injured by car accidents and workplace injuries. I feel my personal experience and experience working with injured people has been a very deep training for me and has helped me develop a passion for the work of helping people heal. I have worked with people for all different reasons including injury and pain recovery, relieving stress and tension to people seeking relaxation, and massing pregnant mothers feel more comfortable in their bodies. I love pregnancy and birth and I love to work with pregnant clients, I even get to attend a few births now and then.
I grew up near New Orleans, LA but grew restless to leave the south. I knew I wanted to find my tribe and headed west to the lovely Portland, OR in 2005. I love living in Cascadia! I feel I have blossomed here into who I am today. I love nature, trees, hiking in forests, swimming in rivers, basking in the sun and listening to the rain. I love gardening, cooking, and above all, reading! I am a life long student of herbalism (I attended The Elderberry School) and of Midwifery (my passion).
In 2008, I met my husband, David, and we made a beautiful family together with two beautiful boys who love to get massage too! My spiritual path is the path of the "householder". I strive to embrace the challenges of this path and to help others along the way. I am dedicated to helping families through love, kindness, compassion and massage!
